Happy Monday Motivation, y'all!
Break the Cycle...
Something funny happened on the way to see Avengers this weekend.....I was persuaded to think one thing and that one thing was absolutely untrue.

Funny how those things happen.

I explain it all, and in under 10 minutes, on the
Monday Motivation video...you can find it here:
Good Stuff Ahead!

Glitter & Grace Gathering!

Y'all...get your tickets!  The Glitter & Grace Gathering is an epic girls weekend that will recharge, rejuvenate, and refresh you like you just won't believe! Check it out here ➣   G3 Tickets!

Did you hear that?

Y'all....there's rarely a moment that I'm totally still and doing nothing.

My brain is always turning and there's usually a party going on in there, trying to decide who will do what.

Being in my head is not necessarily fun all the time...it's loud and messy and full of surprises.
So I have to make myself stop and be still.....and listen for the silence.

That doesn't come easy.

The first 10 minutes are usually spent trying to quiet my mind from all the 'Hey, you should be doing whatever'.

And even though I can't completely silence the noise, I can shut some of it out and just think clear thoughts or take in what's happening around me.

My goal is to do that most often than once a year....which is where I am now - ha!

It's good to have goals.....and it's good to listen to the silence, too!

Keep on Shining!

I loved this image as soon as I saw it.  I thought it was perfect and reminded me that grabbing the star is hard, but hanging on to it is even harder.
There's a whole lot of the world that would encourage us to toss it aside, because it's too big, too bright, too heavy, too much of everything to keep.

Those same things can be said about you as well...when that world is trying to keep you down.

Don't listen....grab the star and keep on shining, girl!

You've got the world to light up and I know you're ready!

Ahh....responsibilities

My back has been playing hooky with the rest of my body and isn't currently participating in anything I want to do.

It's really quite a pain, literally and figuratively, as I do enjoy walking....at least from the couch to other various parts of the house.

So, when I had to go to the grocery store today, Tater had to help.  And I mean help in a BIG way.  It gave her a glimpse into the responsibility I have with my Dad but also allowed her to get a much better idea of what is involved in being an adult.

We talked quite a bit about all she did, how she helped, and what a task it all was.   Frankly, I couldn't have done it without her.  And while I think she was a little proud of all she did to help, I think it was also a shock to her young, somewhat spoiled, self.

I don't think she'll run off to join the Gypsies because no matter what you do or where you are as an adult, there's still a set of responsibilities.  You still have to eat, pay some bills, and earn an income.

It might be much more fun doing all that while flying through the air on a trapeze, or taming tigers, but you'd still have dirty socks and underwear at the end of the day 😉.

Hellllloooooo Richmond!

I was honored to be one of the speakers at the Fearless Women's Summit in Richmond, VA last Monday.  It was a blast and I met some fabulous people, some members of this amazing club!

I talked about the labels we give ourselves, then wear out into the world, and allow others to base their perception on those labels.

And then I talked about how to change those labels to ones that are positive, empowering, and make you feel amazing.

Here's a short clip of that speech...I'll be repeating it in Toronto at the Fearless Women's Summit on July 13!

Happy Mother's Day

Sunday is Mother's Day and for me, the day is filled with so many emotions.

It's a storm filled with joy, grief, dismay, gratitude, and sadness.

But I get through it the best way I know how....one minute at a time, with plenty of grace to deal with whatever I'm feeling.

I wish you a joyous day filled with all your favorite things....and for those suffering for whatever reason because it's Mother's Day, I wish you peace.

Your
Fabulous
is Showing!

When I wrote "Your Fabulous is Showing", I wanted it to be funny, real, and helpful to those that needed to know that life is full of detours, but your journey belongs to you alone.

The "Life Lessons" after each story were what I actually started with but I wanted to put the 'real life' in there with the stories.  And when I started telling the stories, I realized the life lessons went along with each one.

It's just like real life...you get through the day, and when you look back you realize there were things you learned and those things will help you get through the next day.
