Happy Monday Motivation, y'all!

Write it Down...all of it!

My lists are usually scribbles on a scratch piece of paper, notes to myself about details I'm sure to forget otherwise.

And I might have mentioned how important affirmations are in our world, and even have some printed on postcards that I hand out like candy to cranky kids and I always make sure whoever I'm giving them to know how important it is to keep
these lose by so they can read them often.

But still.....the daily chaos isn't filled with them.  Yet that's the most important time to have a list of the good stuff, a list of reminders to keep telling you you will get through it, and you'll get through it all! 

So....write it down.  Write down those love notes to yourself.  Remind yourself of the greatness that's inside you and the good things you've done.

And maybe include an extra special gift of love on there...just because !
 
Let 'em awe all over you!

But....what will people think? Isn't that always the question?

And I can sit here all day and say, "Who Cares?" and "Don't let it bother you!"....but the truth is....it does matter to us what other people think.

We just can't help it.

And if those people are in your inner circle?
Well, that seems to matter 28 times as much.

So....how to solve this?

You have to literally talk yourself into it!  The brain is a beautiful, confusing, (maybe confused!), incredible organ, (filled with 100 million neurons!!) but it hears what you're saying and reacts.  Which is pretty cool, when you think about it.  It also knows what you're feeling (ok, that might be a little weird...).  For example, if you're hungry, doesn't everything suddenly look delicious?

Anyway...the way to talk yourself into it is pretty simply.  You're psyching yourself up, saying things to yourself and saying them out loud so your brain can hear them and start building up that euphoric feeling of joy and self confidence. 

Sound silly?  Maybe....but it works.

So...repeat after me:

I am awesome!  My opinion of me matters!   I've got this!  And ... people will stare...and it's ok!
 
 
Write it out!

I am all about writing some things down and 'thinking' on paper.  I've been doing that as long as I can remember (I really should have kept those old journals!).

But what I hear most often is:  I don't know what to write.

As a writer, and life long sufferer of ADD, my brain flits around like a hummingbird at a koolaid convention...so what to write has never been my issue.

But I finally listened 😊 and decided to give you a journaling prompt each week!
 
Here's the cool part (who am I kidding...it's all cool!):  There are no rules!

  • You can start any time you want to
  • There isn't any length requirement
  • There isn't any time requirement
  • You can print them out or get a notebook (NOTEBOOKS!!!!) and rewrite each one
  • They will all be in the club, each one added weekly

These are designed to make you think outside your comfort zone, but not so far out you're afraid you'll never find your way back in!  Be honest with your writing...this is just for you and if you don't write what you're feeling, it probably won't help.

These prompts are designed to help you discover more about you....it's already inside you, but sometimes it gets stuck under the ugly box of feelings, negativity, guilt.  So writing it down...honestly, openly, and freely, helps you see it and THAT's pretty magical!

So, print this out (click here ➣ Prompt to get the sheet), hole punch that pretty thing and slap it in a notebook....or snag one of your kids 😉 and start writing!!!

Tracey Stoeckel and I had a fabulous conversation about getting on with it after whatever has happened.
